Roadworks…don’t we just love them hey? They slow us down when we need to get somewhere so urgently. Many even turn back and go home. Likewise on the motorway, when we think we have a smooth journey to our destination, we get hit by heavy traffic and many turn off at the next junction.
Our goals are the same. We are always going to get roadworks in the pursuit of them, but do we stop and give up? do we turn and walk back the other way when we have come so far? Just like our destination means so much to the warmth and happiness of our soul, so do our goals. When we hit roadworks, we always get diverted to a new route, but the bottom line is, even if it takes us that bit longer than expected to get to our destination, WE STILL GET THERE! Likewise, our goals should deserve our tenacity and efforts. We should never give up. If they mean so much to us, we should have the tenacity and character to keep going, the intelligence to find a way, and the respect for ourselves to complete them.
Yes, life throws us off time and time again, but that is it’s personality guys and we have to embrace and accept that. If life was always plain sailing and easy, where would the growth of character be? When we get knock backs, it is important we respond swiftly and intelligently. Too much loitering and procrastination leads to emotional drain and that’ is where the ‘quit’ demons come in plenty.
Respect your goals, show character and tenacity and be patient in the face of setbacks…time will help to adjust everything to how it should be, but only your presence in that time will see you successfully through the other end.
